Events
in Mudgee
For anyone who enjoys great
wine, beautiful music or has a penchant for the arts, Mudgee
regularly hosts large events such as A Day on the
Green, Wings, Wheels, Wine & Wool,
and the Wine Festival, to name a few, and
holds seven race meetings a year that prove extremely popular.
Mudgee's weekend markets are
quickly becoming a firm favourite, with a different market
held on each Saturday of the month; the third Saturday featuring
the increasingly popular Farmers
Markets by Mudgee Fine Foods. Here you can tempt
all the senses with their array of produce ranging from farm-fresh
fruit and vegies to cupcakes, organic pork, wine, home-made
jams, preserves and tapenades, fresh bread and more. Sign
the kids up for cooking classes, and follow up the next day
with a Farm
Walk, where you visit the producers and get down
to the grass roots level of food production. If you’ve
ever wondered exactly what ‘free range’ means,
wanted to get in touch with the seasons, or show the kids
exactly where their food comes from, this is simply a must.
September's Wine and Food Festival
in the Mudgee Region is two weeks packed with a huge variety
of events, entertainment, degustation dinners, special wine
tastings, performances, art exhibitions and much, much more.
The culinary event of the wine
celebration calendar would have to be “Go
Grazing” — a food and wine matching
evening where Mudgee’s finest vineyards and cellar doors
go head to head to perfect the marrying of nose and palate. |
